Riedell Skaters Win “Battle of the Blades”

Back in August, we told you about the Battle of the Blades, a CBC hit reality program that has taken Canada by storm! Battle of the Blades premiered on October 4 to a record 1.95 million viewers!  Nearly 1.5 million viewers have been tuning in weekly to catch the impressive (and sometimes comical) performances by professional skaters and their hockey player partners, and last night the show came to an exciting end.

On Monday evening professional skater Jamie Salé and her hockey-player partner Craig Simpson were crowned the first Battle of the Blades Champions! We’re happy to announce that Simpson was one of the skaters outfitted with Riedells.  Although we’re sure his great partner (who also skates Riedell) had much to do their win, we know his comfortable Riedells were part of his success!

As the winners of Battle of the Blades, both Jamie and Craig will have $100,000 donated to the charity of their choice.  Jamie and Craig’s hard work will give the Spinal Cord Injury Treatment Centre the opportunity to continue groundbreaking spinal cord injury research!

Congratulations to Jamie and Craig and special congratulations to Riedell skater Kurt Browning, co host of Battle of the Blades. Great job Team Riedell!
