Riedell’s Holiday Gift Recommendations

Written By: Riedell | December 8, 2011

Earlier this week, Riedell ice skates were included in The Wall Street Journal’s list of the top 50 gifts this holiday season. Riedell is also included in ABC World News’ list for top Made in America products for this holiday season. We are thrilled to be included in both lists! While we’re sure every skater would be happy to receive a pair of Riedell ice skates or Eclipse Blades this year, we made a list (and checked it twice!) of holiday gifts that are sure to be a hit with the ice skater in your life:

For the Rink:
  • A Zuca Bag is a perfect gift for skaters (or coaches) on the go. Check out Riedell’s Zuca bags in our 2012 Catalog.
  • Blade guards, soakers & towels: essential for proper blade care and are available at any skate shop.
  • New laces. It’s smart to have extra laces on hand at the rink, just in case.
  • A skate bag kit is a great gift for skaters who are at the rink training and competing most of the week. Ideas to include are: hair ties, bobby pins, Chap Stick, band aids, granola bars, and a gift card for the rink’s concession stand.
  • Champion Cords are an innovative training product designed by our friend and PSA-endorsed coach Sheila Thelen. They are designed to help skaters learn and improve: Alignment, Position, Muscle Memory, Awareness, and Technique.
  • Training clothing (tights, gloves, and practices dresses) is always a great gift for skaters.
For Home & School:
  • Always have your house, car or locker key on hand with this fun figure skate keychain we found on Etsy.
  • This “Keep Calm and Skate On” poster would look great in any skater’s room or office.
  • A fleece blanket! This one might be best for skate mom & dad’s that spend many hours at the rink, but is sure to keep them toasty during practices and competitions.
  • An iTunes gift card to find the perfect song for your next program.
  • A lesson in skating history and resilience with the book, Indelible Tracings  about the tragedy that struck the 1961 US World Figure Skating team.
  • Subscription to a skating publication like Skating, International Figure Skater or Recreational Ice Skating so your skater is always in the know on the latest news in the skating world.

What is on your wish list this year?
